Then you need stabilisation for 3 weeks, which comes from stage one in Dr Cabot’s book “I Can’t Lose Weight and I don’t know why“. How often do I need to see the doctor? Weekly is ideal for 4 weeks. Ideally a follow up 6 weeks after you start. This can be done by face to face consults (which is the preferred method), phone and/or skype. Can any chemist provide HCG? No it has to be made up by a specialist compounding chemist and can be posted in an overnight temperature controlled post pack or you can personally pick it up from the compounding chemist. Constipation. Due to the restricted diet, it is common to have an evacuation of the bowel only once every two to three days, especially if you do not drink adequate water. BUT, if you have no bowel movements for two or three days and you stop losing weight, you must get the bowels moving again. No because you can take vitamin and mineral supplements and the diet is only for three weeks. What about prescription medications on HCG? Please consult your physician or talk to one of our GP’s before making a change in any medication. Aspirin and birth control pills are allowed. Keep using any blood pressure or cholesterol tablets you are on. Steroids can have an adverse effect on the HCG program. Whilst on the HCG diet, most symptoms that warrant the use of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and bio- identical hormone cream are kept at bay whilst taking HCG, so weight loss can be achieved while taking a short break in taking your HRT without any hardship. However, if you cannot survive without your HRT, you can still do the HCG Diet effectively. Do I continue HCG when I get my Period? You do not have to stop taking HCG whilst you are bleeding. A woman’s body manufactures some HCG at the onset of the monthly cycle. There is no problem in continuing your HCG right throughout your period. If you stall in weight loss or even have slight gains during this time, it is probably due to water retention, assuming you are strictly following the protocol. Simply keep going – do NOT give up for a couple of days or cheat, which could actually cause a real gain in weight. The water weight will fall off and you will continue on your way. |
